Kalium Lakes announced that the Beyondie Potash Sulfate (SOP) project in Western Australia has produced its first batch of SOPs during the product commissioning process.

The SOP lot has met the required product specification. Product commissioning will continue until EBTEC completes its performance test.

The company said the ramp-up of planned commercial production remains on track.

Rudolph van Niekerk, CEO of Kalium Lakes, said:

“Kalium Lakes has taken another important milestone for the Beyondie SOP project, producing its first SOP seven years after the company was founded in September 2014. It has been a remarkable journey to reach this milestone and we thank everyone who contributed to the success of the project over the past seven years, in particular our long-time shareholders, our management team and our employees. We always said it wasn’t a race and we focused on doing it rather than being the first, but in the end we were lucky enough to do both!
