Qumulo unveils cloud-based post-production platform with Studio Q on AWS

Qumulo Studio Q enables creative teams using Adobe Creative Cloud to work from anywhere to quickly create, edit, and monetize media faster than ever

SEATTLE – May 25, 2021 – Qumulo, the revolutionary leader in radically simplifying enterprise file data management in hybrid cloud environments, today announced its new Studio Q Quick Start offering, a comprehensive post-production platform that enables creative teams to replicate the collaborative editorial production process in the cloud. With a simple AWS CloudFormation deployment, studios, broadcasters, and corporate video production teams can now run Adobe® Premiere® Pro and Adobe After Effects® on Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), unlocking authoring workflows content, previously suboptimal or not possible with other file systems.
Qumulo® Studio Q combines the power of Qumulo File Data Platform with Teradici CAS PCoIP® technology to enable a single virtual desktop per publisher, enabling simple and easy collaboration with a rich and lossless user experience on shared media assets without disruption. With Studio Q Quick Start, businesses with high-performance mezzanine editorial workflows can now quickly deploy a full studio in the cloud for collaborative and remote editorial teams.

“Qumulo on AWS gives us the performance gains we need over object stores and the ability to use our very active file data at any scale in the cloud,” said Graham Peddie, COO of Cinesite. “Qumulo, with its capacity-based consumption options, enables our business and IT teams to work together on our digital projects without compromising the choice of how we manage our unstructured data or control costs. “

As production studios, corporate video editors and broadcasters move their creative workflows in a remote environment, Studio Q accelerates the transition to the cloud by making it radically simple. Customers can now take advantage of Studio Q Quick Start to select pre-configured Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances, quickly run the entire Studio Q environment on AWS, reduce hundreds of manual procedures to just a few steps, and allow video editors and artists to get started immediately. Teradici CAS offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, allowing simple and secure access to Studio Q with an exceptional user experience.

“The increasing video production demands associated with the current shift to remote working have left creative teams in the media and entertainment industry with more data challenges than they ever imagined,” Ben said. Gitenstein, vice president of products at Qumulo. “Studio Q is a cloud-based solution that enables global teams to run Adobe Premiere Pro on AWS with the same performance as an on-premises desktop. “

To provide an easy route to the cloud, two platform service options are available through the AWS Quick Start landing page. Customers can choose Studio Q’s self-service model through their own AWS account or take a guided sales experience to test editorial desktops. The test and development route will support customers who move their current desktops to the cloud. Customers who wish to engage in a guided selling experience to test their specific use case may be eligible for AWS credits in testing.
