The #17/18 Arkansas Razorbacks (fourth seed) will face the Vermont Catamounts (13th seed) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Tipoff is set for 8:20 p.m. (CT) and the match will be televised on TNT.

Arkansas earned a No. 4 seed in the Western Region after finishing fourth in the SEC regular season and reaching the SEC Tournament Semifinals. Vermont was the America East (17-1) regular season and tournament champion. Both teams finished the season on a high as the Razorbacks have won 15 of their last 18 games – including eight wins over NCAA QUAD 1 teams – while the Catamounts have won 22 of their last 23 games.

  • This will be the first meeting between Arkansas and Vermont. However, Coach Musselman is 1-0 against the Catamounts as his Nevada team beat Vermont in the 2016 CBI semi-finals.
  • Arkansas wins its 35th NCAA bid and 2nd in a row. (Complete NCAA History) Arkansas advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 last year before falling to eventual national champion Baylor.
  • The Razorbacks own an all-time record of 45-33 in NCAA action.
  • This is the sixth time in program history that Arkansas has won a No. 4 seed and the 13th time in the top four seeds since the NCAA began its current selection process for the championship. 1979. Previous #4 seeds came in 1999, 1993, 1990, 1983 and 1982.
  • Arkansas is 17-8 in NCAA Tournament first-round games.
  • Arkansas 0-1 all-time at Buffalo. On January 1, 1944, Arkansas lost to a DePaul team led by George Mikan, 59-30, at Buffalo’s Memorial Auditorium.
