Hawks fall to No. 1 seed Bullard

HALLSVILLE, Texas — Pleasant Grove trailed early and never recovered as Bullard extended his playoff run with a 58-39 win in a bi-district boys Class 4A playoff basketball game Monday at Bobcat Gym.

“It’s tough going through the year with this group of seniors and having the end of the season,” Hawks head coach Craig Collvins said. “I enjoyed every minute (of the season). We had seven seniors. They came to work, practice wise. They gave us their all on the floor. I hate to see them go but it’s part of the process. They will be missed .”

Pleasant Grove (11-14) shot 32 percent from the field on 14 of 44 shots and the Panthers (26-5) shot 23 of 64 for 36 percent. Bullard outshot the Hawks, 44-34, and fewer turnovers, 14-10.

Cohen Cade led Pleasant Grove with 8 points, including a pair of shots from downtown. Kennon Kelley finished with 6 points and 6 boards for the Hawks, and teammate Jaylen Board led the team with 7 boards.
