) is currently working on his new feature film, a drama titled Aisha. The film, shot in Ireland, recently entered post-production and has been picked up by Cornerstone, which is in charge of its worldwide rights and will begin sales next. Cannes Film Market.

Aisha traces the experiences of a young Nigerian woman as she seeks international protection in Ireland. Caught in limbo for years by the Irish immigration system, Emmy nominee Aisha Osagie Letitia wright) befriends former prisoner Conor Healy (Golden Globe winner Josh o’connor, recently seen playing Prince Charles in The crown), whom she meets in one of the accommodation centers. Aisha and Conor’s growing friendship soon seems to be short-lived as Aisha’s future in Ireland is threatened.

Speaking about his project, Berry commented: “Aisha takes place in the world of direct supply in Ireland. Working with former and current applicants for international protection for four years, the story of a human bond in an inhuman system has emerged. I am delighted that our project has caught the attention of such incredible funding partners and the incredible talents of Letitia Wright and Josh O’Connor, who act alongside many current and former international protection seekers. Making this movie has been a very special experience so far, and I look forward to each of us bringing Aisha to national and international audiences next year.

Aisha is produced by Tristan Orpen Lynch, Aoife O’Sullivan and Donna Epéron for the Dublin group Subotica (the trio has already worked together on Berry’s previous project, Michael inside) and Sam bisbee for the photos of the park. The film was developed and funded by Screen Ireland, BBC Film, RTÉ and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland in association with Park Pictures, Wavelength and World of Ha Productions. The executive producers are Pink Garnet for BBC Film, Hallee Adelman, ivy herman, Jenifer Westphal, Joe plummer, Lance Acord, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Wendy neu, William byerley and George rush.
