Evoqua Water Technologies announced the signing of an exclusive agreement with Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies Inc.

The collaboration combines Ostara’s process solutions for nutrient recovery with Evoqua’s water and wastewater treatment solutions to help municipalities recover nutrients and convert them into fertilizers.

Under the agreement, Evoqua will lead the sales and implementation of Ostara’s nutrient recovery solutions in municipal markets in North America and Western Europe. Evoqua’s project delivery resources provide additional force to further accelerate the growing adoption of nutrient recovery solutions to mitigate excess nutrient richness in lakes and other water bodies. Nutrient recovery solutions such as these can convert excessive nutrient loads into a usable and beneficial product.

“Ostara’s advanced technology for nutrient recovery fits naturally into Evoqua’s broad wastewater treatment portfolio,” said Hervé Fages, Evoqua Executive Vice President and Applied Product Technologies Segment President. “We are excited to enhance our offering of sustainable solutions, providing our customers with the ability to recover valuable resources from their wastewater treatment process while helping to reduce operating costs and meet their sustainability goals and circular economy. “

“We are proud to partner with Evoqua, a trusted water treatment technology provider with a global reach,” said Dan Parmar, President and CEO of Ostara. “This partnership leverages each party’s resources, enabling faster adoption of our nutrient recovery solutions in new market geographies as well as new market segments. In addition, by combining the proven complementary technologies of Ostara and Evoqua, we can provide complete resource recovery solutions through an integrated offering. It is a true win-win partnership that also expands the scope of production and distribution of our sustainable phosphorus-based Crystal Green.® fertilizer.”
