The Igba Boi Tour, a campaign aimed at Igbo apprentices who are in their final year of graduation from the Igba Boi program, received a major boost from the Hero brand with N50 million in seed capital, mentoring and business grants.

Igbo dignitaries and businessmen, community actors, senior officials of International Breweries Plc. and journalists attended the campaign, which was announced in Onitsha.

The tour will pass through six main markets – Ogbaru Main Market, Onitsha; Nkwo Nnewi Market, Awka; Coal Camp Market, Enugu; Alaba International Market, Owerri; Ariaria International Market, Aba and Alaba International Market, Lagos.

Marketing Director, International Breweries Plc, Tolulope Adedeji, explained that the campaign follows the brand’s current campaign, Aha Gi Efula and the documentary Hero’s Walk, which tells the story of the Igbo learning system.

Marketing Director Margaret Igabali then invited the apprentices to submit their applications for review together with their tradespeople.

She explained that a rigorous selection process would follow the collection of applications to ensure that only those who have a maximum of six months to serve and who have proven to be worthy interns over the years are selected.

“Three hundred apprentices in the six markets will receive a two-day training and mentoring program, registering the company name with the Commercial Affairs Commission, opening a company account and will also participate to a grant worth 50 million naira to start their entrepreneurship journey, ”she said. noted.

The campaign will run until December and is open to people 18 and older, Igabali added.
