CF Industries Holdings, Inc. has started restarting the ammonia plant at its Billingham complex in the UK. The restart follows an interim agreement to cover the costs of restarting the ammonia plant and producing CO2 for the UK market.
The company halted operations at the Billingham and Ince manufacturing complexes last week due to high natural gas prices. CO2 is a by-product of the ammonia production process. The safe restart of the ammonia plant at the Billingham complex is expected to take several days.
