(2019), Ukrainian director Antonio Lukich is currently in post-production with Luxemburg Luxemburgthe story of two twin brothers.

According to the synopsis of the film, Kolya and Vasily learn that their father, who left them when they were children, is dying in Luxembourg, far from them. One of them wants to go find his father, while the other does everything to prevent the first from leaving the country. As a result, they both go to Luxembourg in search of their father: Kolya considers him a hero, while Vasily takes him for a villain.

Lukich said, “It’s a movie about twins: they seem to be the same, but behind the outward similarity is the hidden fact that their inner worlds are completely different. Therefore, they treat their father differently. I wanted to highlight this doubt, which gave shape to the visual component.

According to Lukich, Luxemburg Luxemburg will paint a more minimalist portrait of its characters, unlike My thoughts are silentwhich was a comedy-drama about a sound engineer assigned to record animal noises in western Ukraine, and his relationship with his mother.

The new film will be produced by Ukrainian company ForeFilms (known for its work on Atlantis [+see also:

). Moreover, the producer of the film, Volodimir Yatsenkowas chosen among the six Ukrainian producers in the spotlight at the next Cannes Film Market (read the news).

The main roles in the film are played by the members of the musical group Kurgan and Aggregat – twin brothers Ramil and Amil Nasirov – and the artistic director is Andrei Lidagovskywho played the protagonist of Lukich’s feature debut.

After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the resulting evacuation, some of the film-related materials remained in Kyiv, but the team managed to recover them. “It was a complicated ‘special operation’, but we pulled it off,” Yatsenko said.

The Parisian commercial agent Celluloid Dreams has embarked Luxemburg Luxemburg. Involved in international production, development, sales and financing for over 15 years, Celluloid Dreams has been responsible for developing the careers of some of the most important and respected directors of our time, such as Marco Bellocchio and Jacques Audiard.
